I’ve had hormone problems almost as long as I can remember. Over the years I’ve dealt with everything from extremely heavy periods, acne, weight gain, and debilitating period pain, to miscarriage, exhaustion, and HPA Axis dysfunction. When I turned to my doctors for help the only solution I was given was the Pill. They told me this was just normal for some women. I was desperate for relief from my symptoms, so for years I took their solution. Eventually, I found myself wanting to get to the root of what was going on. There had to be a better way! I didn’t want to put bandaids on the issues anymore. And I was tired of believing that suffering was just part of being a woman.
I’m not going to lie, it was not a quick process to get my hormones, and my body, back in balance. Over time, I learned that there are so many options and lots of ways to heal. I found that it’s possible to address the root problem and not just cover up the symptoms. Even though it takes time, I saw that it’s not always complicated to get your body functioning well. Maybe even more importantly, I’ve learned to honor my body and her wisdom rather than despising her. I recognize my body’s strength and beauty instead of seeing myself as weak or broken. I see being a woman as a gift rather than a curse. I’ve learned so much and picked up so many tools along my journey, and I am so excited to be able to share them with you!
